SANTA FE – Today, the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) of New Mexico announced that it will conduct a speed recruitment process to fill 20 new positions in Administration, Financial, Equity, Health, and Information Technology fields. The jobs will be posted on www.spo.state.nm.us , with applications accepted July 13 – 17 and interviews conducted July 14 – 19, 2023. Unlike the standard state recruitment process, where Human Resources is required to wait for the job posting to close before interviewing candidates, all candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the job will receive an interview during the application process.
“If you are passionate about helping families and young children thrive in New Mexico, ECECD is the place for you,” said Cabinet Secretary Elizabeth Groginsky. “We are looking to hire 20 new team members with a broad range of professional experience to help us continue building the comprehensive prenatal-to-five system that families need and deserve. This hiring opportunity is a fast track to joining one of the most dynamic and exciting teams in New Mexico, where you can make a transformational impact on your community and your state.”
ECECD is a national leader in early childhood education and care, having made child care free for most families in New Mexico, increased compensation for early childhood professionals, and is currently implementing the largest PreK expansion in the state history. In the most recent staff survey, ECECD employees reported high satisfaction levels with 83 percent agreeing that they are “inspired by ECECD’s mission and values,” 92 percent of employees agreeing that ECECD is “moving in right direction,” and 91 percent of employees saying that “they find their work meaningful.”

###
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham launched the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) in 2020, making New Mexico among the first states to consolidate all early childhood programs and services under a single cabinet-level agency. Under this administration, ECECD has led the nation by expanding access to free New Mexico PreK, overseeing the largest investment in early childhood infrastructure in state history, and implementing cost-free child care for a majority of New Mexico families.
